In a report on MSNBC attributed to the state television channel of Egypt, I just heard that Hosni Mubarak has resigned as leader of the National Democratic Party. In addition, two other senior executives of the party have also stepped down.
This can be interpreted as an attempt to keep the Egyptian NDP a viable force in future elections, but for many this will be perceived as window dressing in the government store.
