Before everyone writes off the Leafs yet again, keep in mind that they are solid defensively and in the net. They have some decent scorers however only Kessel and MacArthur have been regular contributors so far. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Beauchemin or Komisarek type player be traded for a scorer, yet I also feel the existing lineup has a shot at making the playoffs, particularly if Kadri can improve enough to get called up AND contribute scoring.
Anyways, the boobirds have short memories if they can't even remember last season, and how much this club has improved from that travesty. Other than one Philly game, I think all of the losses have been close games, and a couple of wins will put them solidly above .500. Let's look at the Buds again at the 40-game mark, and see if my perception turns out to be my usual optimism, or if indeed the club is now respectably on the path to contention.
2011 Update: All of my Toronto Maple Leafs coverage and many posts relating to hockey stories are now on my
