Egyptian Presidency Final Four: Suleiman, Tantawi, Shafiq and Anan
Suleiman is too close to Mubarak and is thought to be in ill health. Tantawi could do the job, however if his presidential aspirations are genuine, he should decline any significant role in the transitional government, and leave the army to establish a civilian presence. Which leaves Sami Anan, 62, and Ahmed Shafiq, 69.

Shafiq was appointed PM on January 29th, as part of Mubarak's attempt to change the faces at the top. It's likely he will either stay on as PM until the elections or leave to compete, but not likely that he'll get the transitional presidency as again, like Suleiman, he'll be perceived as being too chummy with Hosni.
