I spent last evening with my eldest daughter and four brothers of Michael Jackson, specifically Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Jackie. It was opening night of their first tour in twenty-eight years (yes it has been that long since 1984’s Victory Tour), and although there were a few snafus with the sound quality and even some opening night jitters on a couple of early songs, as the show progressed and the lads warmed up, they soon had the audience in the palm of their hands.
For fans of Michael, there was much to enjoy and remember, as many family photos were flashed on the screen, and The Jacksons did not shy away from performing songs that Mike had sung lead vocals on, with Jermaine and Marlon even singing some of Michael's solo stuff (Wanna Be Starting Something, Rock With You, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough). It was a great way to spend an evening with my daughter, and for those who grew up on Motown and the Jackson Five, it was an inspiring stroll down harmony lane.
