Jared Lee Loughner: 21st Century Schizoid Man

While I have never understood why Charlie Manson remains such a fascination to people, I did read Helter Skelter back in the day and can verify that Manson's particular form of lunacy can be tightly tied to the cultural ethos of the late 1960s milieu (Beatles, drugs, sex, freedom +++). The fact that he took his "visions" to irrational and ultimately violent conclusions did not negate the value of the culture, it just proved without a doubt that Manson was a seriously ill, deranged man.

Many have already tried to distance Jared Loughner from the right-wing American gun culture that spawned him, but everyone who has looked at his "work" knows that is just ass-covering bullshit. This knee-jerk reaction is to be expected, for in this tragedy the ideas of this seriously mentally ill young man did not fully originate in his own head, and are often re-phrasings of typical militia propaganda. To quote from Loughner:

No! I won’t pay debt with a currency that’s not backed by gold and silver!

This is a juvenile, incorrect argument wonderfully lampooned in recent weeks via Stephen Colbert's pitch for his TV viewers to invest in "bananas" through "Yellowline", a clear jab at the right wing pitchmen for the gold gougers (eg selling overpriced coins and trinkets to bullied common folk). There are ZERO currencies based on gold and silver on our planet. Currencies are based on trust, on the collective responsibility of the people and banks of that nation, including a fair analysis of the intellectual and material wealth of the country or region (Euro).

He was rejected by the military, and based on his dismissive attitude toward fellow students at Pima College, it is certainly possible that he may have been turned down by universities. His delusions are aimless circles however they raise up the Constitution so often it feels like an echo chamber with the sound of an elephant in the room.

The majority of citizens in the United States of America have never read the United States of America’s Constitution.

Nonetheless, read the United States of America’s Constitution to apprehend all of the current treasonous laws.

If the property owners and government officials are no longer in ownership of their land and laws form the revolution then the revolutionary’s (sp) from the revolution are in control of the land and laws.

In conclusion, reading the second United States Constitution, I can’t trust the current government because of the ratifications: The government is implying mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar.



Okay, I've left out a lot of his redundant, meandering semi-literate wordplay, so you can perceive a quick summary of his beliefs.

Government = Bad

Government Officials / Politicians = Treasonous Criminals

Anybody heard this type of rhetoric anywhere else? Thought so...



It's difficult to argue with anarchists (I'm a Utopian Anarchist, however that's a whole other ball of evolutionary wax), who believe that no government is even better than small government.

WAKE UP! AMERICANS; WAKE UP!!!!

Other countries are way beyond this. It's not about bigger or smaller government, but rather efficient, honest government. We Canadians are America's best friends and we can teach you a lot about guns (don't worship them...) and about health care (demand one payer, State-wide solutions).

Yes, that's correct, and it sums up an incredible selfishness of some these days. When even the wealthy do not believe in investing in the nation...

To reach its full potential, the United States of America must commit to itself, and invest in a superbly efficient green permaculture infrastructure to regain traction and return to form as an innovative leader in community, not just business, development.

Respect life, love and liberty, and you'll keep moving forward in this glorious 21st Century.

This is a massive tragedy, for Americans and all humanity, and that is the reason it IS important to look at the thoughts this man expressed, and why he believed or believes he is on the side of history. Painful though it may be, we must examine the manifestations of his illness, if we are to understand the causes, and ultimately, provide treatments, preventions and cures.
