This post would have been entirely different had Canada's 3-0 2nd period lead held up until the end (for example, how can Russia's skinny teenagers compete with strong North Americans?), however my hat is off to the Russkies for what was one of the greatest comebacks in international hockey ever.
Rallying for five straight goals in the 3rd period, the Russian hockey players were hungrier than the Canadians, who had out-muscled, out-skated and outplayed the Russians for two dominant periods.
Congratulations to the Russian hockey players, their coach and all involved for what will surely be the greatest hockey victory of their lives for many of these lads.
As for Canada, our medal streak is still alive and winning silver two years in a row puts pressure on next year's crew to win Gold in Edmonton in 2012; Go CANADA Go!
