With Hosni Mubarak resigning as President of Egypt tonight, it is important that the military include a range of opposition voices in the transitional government. Will ElBaradei's plan for a 3-person council and a year of preparation (before open elections) come to fruition?
Will human rights activist and revolution leader Wael Ghonim be part of the transitional government? If the trio running the country in the near term is Annan from the military, ElBaradei from the opposition forces, and Ghonim from the protesters / April 6th Movement for Youth, then I believe the vast majority of Egyptians will not only be satisfied, but will celebrate for days.
If the new transitional government is headed by Suleiman or includes a disproportionate amount of military / establishment types, that means we're not done yet, and the protests in Tahrir Square in Cairo will continue.
Mubarak is scheduled to speak about 3 minutes from now...
